GFW offers classes teaching a variety of musical instruments and song, mainly through the medium of traditional Scottish music.
We have an extensive group of professional and semi-professional tutors who are highly experienced performers and educators. Many are award winning musicians, recognised in the traditional genre.
During the year we also run Come-and-Try sessions and Workshops in various places, and a couple of Open-Air Ceilidhs to encourage wider participation and support of Traditional Music.
All GFW classes are held in Glasgow Kelvin College, Springburn Campus, 123 Flemington St, G21 4TD
GFW is a registered Scottish Charity SC029502

GFW formed in 1992 as Glasgow Fiddle Workshop. Over 30+ years we have grown to over a dozen different instruments, plus Mixed classes and a Ceilidh Band class. Since 2017 we are officially Glasgow Folk-music Workshop, but we like to stick to just GFW.
